Job description
Title: Procurement Buyer
Location: Taipei, Taiwan
Our client is an international brand in the wireless Internet industry. They offer secure and reliable wireless broadband solutions for customers around the world. They are looking for a procurement buyer to support the supply operations team in Taiwan office. The main duty of this position is to focus on supporting the needs of business.
Responsibilities:
- Buyer of electronic assemblies and electronic components.
- Identify shortages and needs to work with supplier to expedite and meet the demand.
- Ensure correct delivery dates are in the system and work with supplier and our team to ensure timely delivery.
- Support R&D with rush prototype assembly procurement.
- Verify BOMs for accuracy of revisions, Manufacturing PN and quantity.
- Expedite delivery of purchased items and help receiving department accounting and/or supplier with invoice discrepancies.
- Resolve procurement and lead time issues, manage customer expectations, and work on resolutions.
- Continuously negotiate and improve material and manufacturing supplies lead time and pricing.
- Support NPI with quoting process.
- Support inventory and forecast management with meeting target levels and reporting any inventory discrepancies.
- Track and coordinate supplier requirements with the Order Management group throughout the quarter, report risk areas and under-performance issues to Management.
- Measure and communicate supplier performance metrics.
- Communicate any item/order or issues to management, effectively escalating jeopardy situations.
- Participate in department project meetings as needed.
- Ability to communicate with various levels of management including executive.
- Ability to provide information to executive level management to assist in decision making.
- Deep personal commitment and belief in team synergy and collaboration.
- Ability to work in global environment with Suppliers and internal customers worldwide.
- Develops strategies for risk mitigation, business continuity, and cost management and operations improvement including driving RoHS, Quality Qualification, Product SKU/Kit structure configuration, and other regulations.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of market conditions, industry trends, and developing technologies
- Collaborate with supplier and Cambium stakeholders to ensure that production quality processes are in place, monitored, reported upon (metrics) and a corrective action process is in place and utilized as needed
- Compliance with all procurement and planning-related company policies and procedures.
- Build relationship with relevant stakeholders at supplier in engineering, quality and production related functions
Desired Profile:
- Previous ERP/MRP material planning experience a plus.
- Experience with Negotiation and managing suppliers
- Experience with NetSuite a plus
- Experience with Tool development and lifecycle management of tools
- Experience with supplier development for process development and improvement, on-time delivery, ramp, and quality
- Good communications skills with supplier teams
- Good negotiation skills which include dealing with suppliers, setting prices and deadlines, resolving supply issues.
- Problem solving techniques: Kazan, PFMEA, Statistical Analysis, Cp/Cpk, GR&R
- Able to be on site at suppliers
- Materials or inventory management
- Microsoft office software, especially Excel; Pivot, V-Lookup, filtering & sorting
- Engineering Change, Master Data Management, MRP systems; such as Arena, Netsuite
- Supply Operations processes
- A background in Electronics Manufacturing and distribution - desirable
- Needs to be able to work independently
- Needs to be able to represent the company in a professional manner in the region

Additional Job Requirements
- College degree in business or supply chain operations.
- Minimum of 3 years Purchasing, Planning experience or related industry experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong Excel skills
- Basic knowledge of Word, and Power Point
- MBA or in pursuit of an MBA will be a plus
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
- A manufacturing process background and experience of using structured methods process and tools definition, performing gap analysis, benchmarking, solution development, implementation, institutionalization and control will be a plus
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within an electronic manufacturing environment.
- Some Financial background.
