Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with core team to develop target material cost for key new product development projects. This may include the development of should cost modeling or other supplier budgetary quoting.
• Develop sourcing plan to ensure the lowest total cost supplier is selected for each component. This includes managing RFQ process and supplier selection for key components. Supplier decisions will be reviewed with respective commodity manager as appropriate.
• Work with supplier quality and R&D to identify qualification requirements of parts to ensure clear understanding by suppliers and sufficient time in process to complete testing.
• Responsible for continuously tracking the cost of materials for each project, showing the total cost of all components vs budget as well as identifying opportunities to minimize supplier costs where possible.
• Responsible for ensuring that all parts are received by Weber in a timely manner. This includes ensuring drawings / specs are issued to suppliers in a timeframe allowing for tool construction, samples available for qualification testing and all pilot / first production run parts are on time.
• Facilitate early supplier involvement in part design process to ensure lowest total cost parts that suppliers are capable of manufacturing in a consistent manner.
• Lead corporate supplier risk reduction program, including identification of highest risk suppliers / components and development and execution of appropriate mitigation actions.

Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related, engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in purchasing or product development at a high volume and consumer products company. Global sourcing experience is preferred.
• Travel will be required.
