Job Description

A key objective of this role is to move Procurement up the value chain across the region to become a more strategic and professional function supporting the business growth, cost management and compliance objectives.

To align to current structures, the role combines regional transformation with the delivery of Procurement support to the Gulf and Saudi markets. Accordingly, the other key objective is to build on the Procurement processes in place in the 2 MEA countries, through the effective undertaking of responsibilities typically associated with a Procurement Manager, including business engagement, sourcing suppliers and supplier management. In essence this is a ‘dual hat’ role which requires involvement in 2 key MEA markets spend – Gulf and Saudi.

The role involves operating in challenging, complex environments and the ability to influence multiple stakeholders at a senior level.

Typical Accountabilities:

  • Develops strong working relationships with budget holders in the Gulf & Saudi markets
  • Works with stakeholders to identify local opportunities for delivering value and benefit to the business
  • Agrees benefit commitments with the business and ensure benefit is tracked and delivered
  • Ensures addressable spend is categorised according to Global Procurement standard categories and factors in business projections on future spend
  • Liaises with the Head of Procurement MEA, International on  implementing the regional transformation strategy in these countries
  • Liaises with Regional Procurement Category Leads to understand global strategies and the potential           implementation in the Gulf and Saudi local markets
  • Where potential is identified, supports Regional & Global Category Leads in securing local business buy-in to implementation
  • Supports other Procurement Managers across the region in best practice sourcing, supplier selection, contracting and supplier management techniques
  • Implements a governance model to manage relationships and performance of key suppliers to the Gulf
  • Develops an understanding of the market dynamics across the region, particularly with a view to standardising and aggregating requirements where possible
  • Ensures the implementation of Global standards on Procurement policy, supplier due diligence and P2P (eg no PO no Pay)
  • Utilise AZ Procurement systems, such as SAP, Coupa, Ariba, where available
  • Deliver WAPT targets as submitted by the CFO
  • Deliver savings and cost reductions targets as submitted in the ABU every year
  • Maintain accurate records of spend, contracts and suppliers

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • 3 years managerial experience at E level

Desirable :

  • Extensive experience in line management, technical support and project management
