JOB ROLE

Responsible for all procurement relating to capital engineering projects. The main categories of spend are architecture and engineering, construction, other consultancy and services, and manufacturing equipment.

Procurement activities shall be undertaken as part of a capital project team.

Takes full accountability for creation of project procurement strategies, and successful implementation of sourcing, tendering, negotiations, contracts and ongoing contract and relationship management.

The capital projects may be in any country, so the successful candidate must be able to collaborate remotely with project teams across the world, as well as in Sweden.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creates procurement plans and makes decisions necessary to purchase products and services per organizational objectives and category and sourcing strategies

• Conducts commercial review of procurement requisitions and Statements of Work in accordance with business requirements and budgets, specifications, performance terms, and/or acceptance criteria and contracts

• Researches and leads the selection of potential sources of services, including building relationships with suppliers to maintain and develop recommended sources, evaluate suppliers, and measure supplier performance

• Leads the preparation of competitive tenders, with pertinent specifications, terms, and conditions

• Leads the evaluation of competitive offerings to determine the overall best offer for a product or service 

• Supports the Procurement Director to undertake strategic sourcing, develop contracts and agreements and resolve contract issues using AZ templates and approaches

• Liaises with engineering project teams and suppliers to ensure performance, expedite delivery, resolve payment problems, and review product pricing information

• Undertakes internal and external analysis to assist with internal forecasting and inform supply market sourcing decisions

• Undertakes administration (e.g., contract database maintenance, equipment records and / or specifications)

• Maintains a cost reduction, cost avoidance, cost containment program and reports it via the value database

• Complies with all regulatory and AZ requirements relevant to the role, e.g., Code of Conduct, contract approvals, third party risk management

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

• Previous procurement experience, in the capital engineering / construction sector

• Oral and written fluency in Business English and Swedish

• Knowledge of construction contracts

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively

• Demonstrated success working in a team environment

• Strong analytical and financial skills

DESIRABLE

• Professional procurement qualification

• Experience with electronic tendering systems
