Eaton’s Commercial & Residential Distribution Solutions (CRDS) Division is currently seeking a Product Application Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Hodges, SC facility. Position Overview: The Product Application Engineer is responsible for supporting product development, troubleshooting, and cost-out that meet applicable industry standards. This includes design, testing, verification, and project management activities. Can provide a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of electrical engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique customer applications. In this function you will: Coordinate with sales, marketing, manufacturing, and customers to determine design specifications for future and updates to existing products. Develops and reviews product development requirement specifications including product and customer requirements. Writes and maintains functional specifications of design solutions. Coordinate design activities within project scope, budget, and schedule constraints. Develops and maintains detailed project schedules incorporating resource management and milestone deliverables. Possess the appropriate project management skills to take the lead position on various development projects. Initiate and promote generation of new ideas and documenting them appropriately for possible patent application and protection. Work with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and field sales on meeting new design manufacturability, product performance and cost goals. Coordinate prototype builds and testing. Writing and implementation of design verification test plans. Support and prepare specifications for products, equipment, and processes while maintaining awareness and cost control. This may involve direct customer interface to establish requirements. Coordinating design verification test plans when necessary with the applicable standards agencies (UL, CSA, KEMA, ANSI, etc.). Provide technical training for both internal and external audiences. Provides application support for end users. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical field from an accredited institution. Minimum three (3) years of engineering or technical experience in design and/or manufacturing role Must be eligible to work in U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates residing outside a 50-mile radius of the location listed in the job description Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in Engineering from an accredited institution CAD software experience Ability to communicate technical information to customers and manufacturing We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
