Head of Product & Bodybuilder Management

Main Objective

- In the team ‘Product & Bodybuilder management’ within the Daimler Trucks Sales business unit, we continuously strive to enhance and add value to the business by providing product and technical consultancy. We actively monitor the market dynamics, regulation and landscape to ensure & offer a solid product portfolio. Building strong relationship and cooperation with General distributors, bodybuilders, regulatory authorities, etc. and effective usage of the available systems, process & tools is key to achieve day-to-day task.

Tasks

Mercedes-Benz Trucks Product management
- Ensure a consistent, effective and professional approach towards General Distributors for MB Trucks in regards to technical consultancy and product support to achieve the best possible market exploitation and segment coverage.
- Definition, implementation and maintenance of technical specifications for targeted trucks (core types) including body structures from the preferred bodybuilders for each market in the region.
- Managing of the strategic product matrix (products and applications) and identifying strategy to fix white spots.
- Active analysis of the commercial vehicle market trend & competitive environment with regard to models, applications and technologies. Gather product requirements and process the request until its implementation.
- Close coordination with internal & external stakeholders on product lifecycle management topics, product positioning, homologation topics & product launches.
- Supporting the Marketing team by ensuring the completeness and suitability of marketing campaigns in terms of customer benefit argumentation, product information and technical data.
- Ensuring that the comprehensive product information and qualification is provided to internal and external stakeholders.
- Close coordination with CTT (Custom Tailored Truck) to support and offer solution for customer requirement.
- Ensure an efficient use of provided MB Trucks Sales Tools (e.g. SAM, AFAB, WINGS, Bodybuilder Portal, PIT, Truck Base, CERON, etc.).
- Knowledge on ‘Zero emission’ vehicles technology & providing necessary support to ensure its successful introduction of such products.

Homologation support
- Active analysis of the legal and regulatory framework which can be impacting the Mercedes-Benz Trucks product portfolio and relationship management to regulatory authorities.
- Preparing compulsory codes based on the each model year regulation requirement & actively informing all the stakeholders.
- Supporting the direct sales department in Germany & sales through bodybuilders across international markets for the vehicle specification check against regulation/homologation.
- Alignment of product specification between General Distributions and GSO requirements including check for compliance to GSO regulations for all Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
- Supporting of internal colleagues during the application process for new GSO certificates with necessary technical information.
- Representing Mercedes-Benz Trucks towards government & regulatory authorities.

Bodybuilder management
- Foster relationship and cooperation with bodybuilders by executing on-site visits, technical discussions and meetings.
- Planning and organizing bodybuilder events and meetings for the region.
- Build strong working relationship with business partners, bodybuilders, tire manufactures, etc. to add value to the MB Trucks business in the region
