Introduction of Lifecycle Management

What links development, production, market, and customer functions? The Lifecycle Management (LCM) Department. We're creating ONE company flow by steering projects hand-in-hand with teams throughout the organization from the initial project idea to project realization and through to final production.

LCM is involved in the product strategy, Business Strategy, Connectivity and e-Mobility. These functions are composed of 8 departments (6 in Japan, 2 in India) with a headcount of ca. 160 people.

Job Description
- As part of the Strategy & Business Development department of Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA) you will join the Product and Business Innovation team.
The team’s role is to spread innovation culture within the organization, work with external partners like startups to validate & incubate promising product and business related ideas from the angles of technical feasibility, business viability and customer desirability, using an agile business development framework.
You will iteratively develop prototypes and test them with customers, all with the license to fail fast but learn & find solutions quickly. The results will be concepts that are validated and tested through readiness mechanisms you define and will be pitched to the top management in order to trigger their implementation.


- Your responsibilities
1. Establish the DTA Innovation framework, a strategic roadmap to building innovation capital and track the efforts that lead us there. Develop related activities and processes that will facilitate innovation within the company and across functions.
2. Validate and incubate business ideas and define complete business models and implementation plans. This will require the candidate to:
- Analyze trends developments in the automotive & mobility industry with focus on DTA markets
- Design and implement monetization models to drive revenue growth
- Select and groom ideas in order to foster successful pitches
3. Implement, launch and sustain an innovation platform for DTA. This initiative is formed of two portions: a website to share content about the future of the mobility industry and also engage discussion with external experts, as well as an innovation hub to test out and validate concepts.
