The opportunity has arisen for a Product Design Draftsperson to join the Siemens Mobility team in Port Melbourne, Victoria. The product design draftsperson will produce or revise mechanical or electrical engineering documents including CAD models, drawings, bills of material (BOMs) and specifications. This is your role. What part will you play? In this role, you will be across the entire support contract life-cycle leading the Services and Support Team from a technical perspective to ensure customer service commitments are achieved. Product area is railway trackside equipment such as point machines, point layouts, point detectors, and signals. Design and draft the component under the supervision of the engineering design authority down to the fine details to satisfy the specified requirements of the customer. Configure the products according to the requirements or product change requests. Prepare design documentation. Support other the functions within the business (e.g., manufacturing, procurement, logistics). Use your skills to move the world forward. AS1100 knowledge essential. Mechanical drafting experience essential: metal fabrication, sheet metal, machining detail, threads, and welding designations. Point layout experience preferred. 2D / 3D experience essential. NX experience preferred.
