Reporting to IDC in China, the Product Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting all product development activities for LIXIL prefab Bathroom Category. The Product Design Engineer must have hands-on expertise in the application of CAD,ProE software or similar for the design of part geometries, CAD assemblies and for 2D & 3D design. He or she must be a self-motivator and have the ability to work comfortably and effectively across countries. Specific responsibilities will include:

• Create/Develop from Architect Layout drawings to 3D drawings using CAD, ProE or similar software.




• Should be familiar with the properties and processing technology of metal and plastic casting materials, towards customizing the product design to suit country specific detailing.
  

• Undertake detailed design of product structure and parts. Mold sample review, design change and final recognition of parts.




• Preparation of 2D/3D detailed drawings, BOM, legal patent views, and other product engineering.




• ECR/ECN documentation revision control.




• Generate CAD Assemblies for assembly procedures and SKU control.




• Collaborate with LIXIL team members in evaluation of concepts through field trial studies, direct observation, and focus group studies, in target markets.




• Able to understand customer requirements and should be able to build design and production drawings towards existing product portfolio and in new product development.

  
  Requirements:

• A BS degree in Architect, Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

• Grasp the knowledge of tolerance analysis for product design.

• Familiar with plastic injection molded parts, sheet metal and die casting parts design.

• Knowledge of related materials, molding & tooling and surface treatment processes.

• Familiar with product development process, related product testing requirements and product industry standards. Familiar with decorative materials and construction technology.

• Experience in industrial product structure design and product assembly installation both is greatly preferred.

• Minimum 3 years industry experience in CAD (formerly Pro/Engineer) software.

• Outstanding creativity with proven analytical/problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills in English.

• Ability to travel across Asia for learning and collaboration.

• Working knowledge of Computer graphics would get preferred.
