Job Description
Eaton’s Power Systems division is currently seeking a Product Design Engineer Jr to join our team. This position is based at our Queretaro facility. The Product Design Engineer Jr is responsible for provide direct support to product lines to ensure the products continue being manufactured without interruption with a primary focus on the customer needs. Will be also accountable for leading value engineering projects with cross-functional teams. This position will work closely with the Marketing department, Quality department, Production department, Materials and Sourcing departments, to manufacture the products in an organized and expedited fashion. Some activities related with the position will be: Provides direct product support in analyzing and validating assembly activities and/or deviations Supports design of products to address performance improvements; analyze, improve and document product design rules (assembly layout, material analysis and validation). Review material standards and new material options for cost reductions. Reviews and updates of Drawings, Bills of Materials and Internal specifications through the ECR process. Works with production department to follow up and assure committed dates for cost out initiatives. Also, to perform and follow up on NPD project activities assigned to meet commitments (Vitality). Generates protocols for samples and Material/Electrical/Mechanical testing. Supports design and develop solutions to meet customer’s need as are required by marketing. Coordinates with Senior Design Engineer deviations of nonconformance material or products Supports manufacturing and production testing and cooperate to investigate tooling, quality control, and production problems to recommend corrective action. Supports local sourcing/purchasing to evaluate, recommend, and develop new initiatives. Establishes and maintain a collaborative working relationship with other areas. Participates in design reviews as well as the Design and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA, PFMEA) sessions to identify project risks and develop response plans. Supports Quality and Warranty Departments in the analysis of customer complaints to document Service Tickets making sure that root causes are addressed to avoid recurrence. Leads Value engineering initiatives to support cost out goals. Records product test validation through Protocol Systems #LI-UH1 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor´s degree in Mechanical (preferred), Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering. Experience and knowledge on Power systems equipment and operation is preferred 1-3 years as engineer. Very good verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English is essential Preferred Qualifications: Excellent computer and data analysis skills. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP and CAD are preferred. Demonstrated leadership capability.
