General Summary:

InterDesign USA Company, located in Ningbo is looking for a Product Development Team Member to assist in the development and pricing of new products, the transition of existing products and the development of new materials and vendors.

This role will report directly to the Director of Asia Operations; however, they will take guidance from and support the US teams.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• New product development: Actively engage in the New Product Guide (NPG) and Design in Process Status (DIPS) processes;
• Clarify requirements for factories regarding tooling, sampling and packaging; Monitor timelines to ensure new projects are delivered on time.
• Vendor discovery, qualification, Quality Assurance, and on-boarding
• Material (e.g. new substrates, raw materials, etc.) discovery and engineering
• Assist in the cost negotiations for new and transitioning products.
• Program and Product transitions from one vendor to another
• Working with factories in improving processes, operations and other efficiency projects to achieve cost savings or quality improvements.
• Other duties assigned by the Director of Asia Operations and US headquarters

Education Requirement:

Bachelor Degree from 4 year University.

Experience Requirement:

Exporting consumer products from China to the United States (preferably Houseware products).

Previous experience with major US retailers is a plus ( Walmart & Target)

Familiarity with manufacturing in a factory environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Fluent in written and spoken English

Self-motivated and well organized

Work Environment:

Frequent travel to factory locations

Accessibility to US office via conference call
