Product Development - Senior specialist

Manage and coordinate product development projects by identifying potential products, involving market research, generating product requirements, determining specifications, developing time-integrated plans for product launch.  Evaluate and resolve design optimization, and product feature issues.  Ensure quality of product development process and product launch meets Product Development Committee’s expectation.  Research and monitor sales performance of new and existing products, industry developments and identify potential new product opportunities. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of product development processes. This position must drive and lead all product development related departments to deliver projects with his/her own responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

· Utilizing market research data; reviewing production and profit; performing sales projection to advise product pricing, product rationalization and roadmap.

· Recommend the nature and scope of existing and new product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.

· Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products to develop products to meet channel requirements and maximize customer satisfaction

· Create, optimize and finalize product benefits, features and product contracts / endorsements to meet key stakeholders’ needs and product timeline

· Introduce and market new / enhanced products by initiating time-integrated plans with distribution channel and marketing communication and collaborating system specification with actuarial to meet implementation timeline.

· Lead discussion and manage coordination with distribution channel, actuarial, underwriting, claim and re-insurers to complete pricing, sales conditions, underwriting rule and claim support throughout product development process

· Drive and manage product launch prioritization per commitment and collaborate with product work group and product collateral work group to deliver projects following department goals

· Assess product operation risk and provide solutions for risk mitigation based on ease of doing business concept and customer centric

· Review and provide suggestions for any new / enhanced product launches and marketing communication such as sales tools, sales materials and training materials to document owners

· Provide and present information for management by preparing related product document for decision and approval and answering questions and requests.

· Maintains professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, establishing personal networks and extending product knowledge

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
