The Challenge

Development or modification of grades, starting both from new and existing concepts.

Build up and maintaining conceptual knowledge on structure-property relationships of the product line and implement this knowledge into the PTO process.

Development or modification of grades

• Manage product development projects within agreed timing and budgets

• Chairman of product development project teams

• Reporting of product development projects

• Translate customer needs into product development goals in cooperation with ADE and TSE

• Up scaling of developmental products from the research phase to the commercial phase, using the available knowledge and expertise
  

Build up and maintaining conceptual knowledge

• Initiation, execution and implementation of innovative/explorative projects, targeted at extending the application area of the product line.

• Initiation and implementation of know-how projects, targeted at extending the knowledge base of the product line

• Using the available expertise on processing, testing, material science, etc. in order to advise the rest of the organization

• Contribution to internal and external publications
  

The Ideal

• We require an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, self-motivated, result oriented and persuasive person.

• PhD, Master Degree or equivalent experience in polymer science, polymer physics or a similar materials science field

• We’re looking for a team player who is able to work with and over various disciplines

• Strong curiosity towards ‘how things work’ and finding solution for technical challenges

• Proficient in spoken English

• It is imperative that you have good overall communication and social skills as well as commercial affinity.
  

In this role you report to the R&T Manager Arnitel & Arnite A & Xytron of DSM Engineering Plastics and you will be part of our Global Research and Technology team. This role is based in Shanghai, China.
