Job Description

Eaton’s Aerospace Sector Interconnect Technologies Division is currently seeking a Product & Distribution Sales Manager - Northwest to join our team. This position is a remote position based in the Seattle, WA area. Relocation Assistance will be provided.

 

Position Overview:

The Product and Distribution Sales Manager role is part of the ITD Americas sales organization, responsible for an assigned territory and set of customers and distributors in the aerospace and defense markets. The role reports to the Commercial Leader of ITD Americas.

Key functions of this role include establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships and leading growth opportunities through the stages of the selling cycle, applying value selling and PROLaunch tools with particular emphasis on developing winning capture strategies, and managing and monitoring sales rep activity in the assigned territory. Key functions also include implementing the channel strategy with distributors to achieve distribution growth and strategic objectives.

In this function you will:

  • Take ownership of the assigned sales territory by achieving sales and profitable booking goals as well as targeted price increases.
  • Develop and maintain sound customer relationships, uncover sales opportunities, and build a solid pipeline.
  • Leverage extended resources to identify and execute new sales opportunities and work closely with the Eaton OEM Customer Account leaders.
  • Supervise business activity from all sales channels in the territory including sales reps, to ensure Eaton is doing its best effort.
  • Take responsibility for assigned distributors by delivering sales and booking goals as well as assisting in monitoring and ensuring the overall health and effectiveness of our distribution network in terms of geographic / market coverage, financial performance, annual growth, industry reputation, and effectiveness serving our customers.
  • Establish and maintain high-quality relationships with the senior leadership within the assigned distributors.
  • Visit distribution branch locations and conducts training with M-rep assistance as applicable.
  • Define and manage distribution product launches and measure success.
  • Develops lead generation programs in conjunction with product launches.
  • Assist the sales team in the coordination and capture of large opportunities.
  • Leads the development of performance metrics (POS gathering & trend analysis, stock rotation analysis).
  • Organizes Quarterly Business Reviews with distributors to follow performance in growing business according to the strategy.
  • Applies PROLaunch and value cycle tools in the new business capture processes by leading the capture teams throughout the business capture process
  • Working with the Product Manager, Division Sales Manager, and finance resources to develop opportunity business cases utilizing the NBR tool.
  • Lead contractual and pricing negotiations with the support of the contracts and pricing teams.
  • Understand and effectively communicate customer needs within the sales, product management, and engineering organizations.
  • Understand current product value proposition and future application requirements for the portfolio.
  • Support the strategic planning process by maintaining thorough knowledge of the product portfolio including new technology needs and competitor positions.
  • Support the demand aspect of the SIOP process and be an active participant in all necessary phases of the process including Profit Plan top line review
  • Own sales forecast, provides comprehensive reporting, and oversees booking levels.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution.
  • At least seven (7) years of work experience, with a minimum of three (3) years of work experience in commercial sales dealing with aerospace and defense customers or distributors.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five to seven (5-7) years of commercial sales experience in the component connectors industry (some combination of sales, contracts, pricing and customer service functions).
  • Five to seven (5-7) years of experience working with global teams.
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFAR and international contracting requirements.
