Job Description
Eaton’s Interconnect Technologies Division is currently seeking for a Product Engineer ITD Santiago to join our team. This position is based at our Santiago, Dominican Republic facility. Job Summary Performs medium engineering investigations and tasks as assigned. Collaborates with experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems. Prepare reports, graphs, planning layouts, and summaries designed to communicate project progress or results. Participates as a team member, helps define/refine methods and actively contributes towards team goals. Follows technical documentation requirements and engineering processes. Job Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supports Current Product or Product Development project teams or Engineering Services programs and conducts specific low to medium complexity tasks assigned. Works with ACES deliverables within the PROLaunch development process. Works individually or as a part of a team and with other engineering or cross-functional disciplines to deliver as per customer needs and expectations. Support technical information/project status to Eng. Manager. Coordinate the prototype manufacturing of products. Participates in failure analysis examinations and prepare Failure Analysis Reports (FAR) of findings. Implements design improvements (cost reduction, functional enhancement, and product customization) to existing products. Manages design history folders, Product Lifecycle Management system (ENOVIA) for the various new products, including issuing Engineering Change Orders. Participates in design reviews, innovation summits, and design bursts. Coordinate’s testing activities with Engineering and Production test teams. Develops of moderated products using 3D CAD with SolidWorks. Support product transition activities, including transfer of design authority. Participates and/or witnesses testing of products. Works with conceptual and detail design of electrical connectors and cable assemblies SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Executes design tasks based on direction from others knowledge of mechanical engineering design fundamentals such as failure theories, design of standard mechanical components Carrying out basic classical (handbook) calculations for component, component sizing & selection Has basic knowledge of fits & tolerances, materials, and machining process to achieve intended form, fits and finishes for desired functions Has a basic knowledge of design for manufacturing and cost. Has awareness of GD&T fundamentals (Geometric symbols and dimensioning). Can create (using 3D CAD tools) surface models, format creation, set modeling and drafting standards, flow model/ surface extraction, and is proficient in various modules such as solid modeling, mold, drawing. Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university, or equivalent. Minimum 2 years of Mechanical, Electrical Or Electronic product Design Experience. Computer knowledge: AutoCAD, MS Office Applications, and Solid Works. Bilingual: English/Spanish.
