As a Product Engineer you will be responsible for the mechanical engineering design and analysis of advanced engine and powertrain concepts. The scope of responsibility is to conceptualize, architect, design, simulate, and to demonstrate technical feasibility of the system and prove customer value. Project responsibility will initially focus on advanced valve actuation strategies for internal combustion engines. Future projects will involve assessment of benefits of advanced concepts on engine and powertrain systems. Your key deliverables : Conceptualize and design state-of-the-art mechanical engineering designs and Powertrain concepts. Design, coordinate simulation, sample built and rig tests. Generate a variety of solution options and perform trade-off analyses using both analytical and experimental resources. Formulate a concept’s critical design features perform risk assessment and executes the relevant tests to validate the design. Define, plan, and execute all aspects of sample/ prototype control system development project including analysis, design, fabrication, assembly, and rig test. Oversee the installation of prototype on the engine and connection with vehicle control systems. Interact with a variety of technical contributors including engineers, designers, and technicians to accomplish project objectives. Interact with Valvetrain Product Engineering to accomplish project objectives. Qualifications Required: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university. 2 years of experience preferably within Internal Combustion engines design and development in industry. Good communication and presentation skills. Fluent in English Desired: Ability to design and develop Internal Combustion Engine components and systems. Ability to design/specify hardware for assembling samples/prototypes. Ability to clearly understand technical requirements and transform the requirements in design. Knowledge of analysis tools (FEM), mechanical tolerance stuck-up, manufacturing techniques. Experience with the integration of systems composed of mechanical, electrical control elements.
