In this position, you will be performing Fault Isolation and Failure Analysis on next generation CPUs. The goal is to characterize and isolate potential failures from the tester/system bus level down to a single failing node or transistor, employing a wide array of DFT (including SCAN/ATPG) and test tools, complemented with your knowledge of computer architecture, Logic, Circuit/VLSI, process and device physics.
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Performing fault isolation and failure analysis to determine root cause of failures.
- Utilizing various tools and techniques such as system, testers, DFx software tools, Optical probing, Logic and Circuit analysis and simulation, Probing, and Layout study.
- Developing tools for fault isolation/failure analysis capabilities and techniques on future products.
- Collaboration and remote analysis with cross-site teams required.
- Working directly with internal customers such as Design and Debug Engineers, Quality and Reliability Engineers, Product Development Engineers, and Fab Yield Engineers to help solve and determine root cause of various complex issues.
- Excellent communication skills, analytical problem solving skills, teamwork, strong attention to detail, and discipline.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- You should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or related field of study.
- Intermediate to Advanced English Level.
- 4+ years of relevant experience (Experience may be offset by Master or PhD degree).
- Knowledge in the use of testers (ie. CMT / HDMT).
- Understanding of x86 microprocessor architecture, VLSI design, fab process, and device physics.
