Job Description
Eaton is currently seeking a Product Integrity Centre (PIC) Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Perth location. Position Overview: As a member of the Distribution Centre (DC) support team, the primary function of the PIC Technician is to improve organizational effectiveness and contribute to supporting the Operational Excellence (OpEx) Department by inspecting and testing returned material within the Product Integrity Centre (PIC). In this function you will: Consider Safety as number one and support alignment of CI / OpEx / Quality and MESH strategies at the DC. Investigate and drive the root cause of non-conformances from return material to support the site’s ISO and Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS) while continuing to support the Perth DC Eaton Business System (EBS). Support quality and OpEx projects, processes & CI events to ensure that operational, financial, and quality objectives are met, in accordance with High 5 metrics of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity as well as considering customer and cost requirements. Coordinate the control, handling and management of defective return material and arrange for disposition through interactions with the Mod Shop, Materials, Planning, Engineering staff and suppliers. Interact with internal and external suppliers to improve & conform to component and assembly design to improve manufacturability and reduce cost. Perform functional / product testing on returned products and conduct defect analysis to drive root cause. Evaluate, test, and inspect Returned Material Authorizations (RMAs). Provide additional support to the OpEx team when required. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business / Commerce, Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, etc.) or industrial technology; minimum Grade 12 or equivalent level of education with significant experience. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a Quality / technical role. Basic knowledge of mechanical and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility. Preferred Qualifications: Experience within a manufacturing and / or distribution centre environment. Six Sigma, Lean, PMP or ASQ certification is considered an asset. Certified EQMS auditor, or willingness to become qualified. Position Criteria: Demonstrated experience of utilizing mechanical tools and measuring equipment required for assembly and calibration.
