As a Product Lifecycle Manager, you will be the entrepreneur for IoT connectivity and edge computing offerings for protection and substation automation in power systems. This includes responsibility for defining and implementing reliable and scalable IoT data collection, connectivity, and edge computing capabilities that enable our SaaS offerings running in cloud environments. You will be in charge of bringing versatile, interoperable, and efficient IoT connectivity & edge capabilities to the market, which will provide the basis for flexible and scalable rollout of our SaaS/Cloud offerings into customer deployments. You will thereby establish the IoT data collection, connectivity and edge computing system blueprint, and shape decisions on the related platforms & technologies. Your responsibilities will also include establishing the pricing models, delivery and execution concepts, sales materials, calculation methods, and standard quotations for the IoT connectivity and edge offerings. You will stay abreast with new technologies and market developments worldwide to address the constantly evolving digital transformation landscape for power systems. Additionally, you will support Cloud product managers on strategic customer projects to ensure the success of our IoT offerings. Your responsibilities will range from sales support during customer interactions, to enabling delivery teams during I&C stages, to leading all aspects of the smooth operation of the connectivity & computing solutions at productive customer sites. Working closely with the R&D, Sales, Operations, and Customer Services, you will ensure detailed integration of IoT connectivity offerings with our Cloud offerings, and other protection and substation automation functions, including device management. You will collaborate closely with other teams within the Siemens businesses in pursuing alignments to grow the IoT connectivity capabilities in power automation-intensive markets of mutual relevance. Via close agreement with our regional units, you will chip in to achieving sales, revenue und margin targets for our overall IoT/Cloud offerings. What you need to make real what matters. You hold an equivalent bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, and at least longterm experience applying the aforementioned knowledge and skills. Furthermore, you have at least mid-term experience in delivering IoT connectivity & edge computing solutions in one or more of the following verticals: power grids, power generation, industry & infrastructure. You have in-depth functional and technical knowledge of protocols and sensors used in protection and substation automation, with deep expertise of the following areas: IoT connectivity via secured protocols such as MQTTS and HTTPS; field data acquisition via IEC 61850, SNMP, and Modbus TCP protocols; Computing on constrained devices and industrial PC platforms; Establishing secured IoT connectivity & networking concepts for greenfield and brownfield industrial sites. Besides a strong understanding of product lifecycle management and strategic planning, you can also quickly grasp new technologies and translate them into customer benefit. Your proficiency and experience in energy automation concepts is highly desirable. With your initiative, result-orientation, and good interpersonal skills, you drive topics to in collaboration and teamwork with diverse faculties to successful results. You are a strong communicator in English and preferably also in German and have confirmed this in the past in an intercultural environment.
