Product Line Management-Apparel

Job Description

As the PLM you will be responsible for creating product lines rooted in consumer insights, driving new and established business opportunities, sharpening product positioning and have the opportunity to be part of shaping the future.

You will be responsible for managing the product creation process. Utilizing marketplace knowledge, newest-/ hot-trends, historical information and category analysis and in partnership with Design and Merchandising. You will direct the regional/ global agreement of the product attributes, costing, sourcing, delivery and pricing needs of consumers, and channels. You will also implement action plans for business gaps within the line plan. You will manage the approval process for materials, fit and prototype sign off. You will ensure key Gates and Dates in the calendar are met. You'll create presentations to sell-in the product and represent the team at key product creation meetings. In addition, you will also be responsible for optimizing productivity, margin and revenue for your product lines.


Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the management of multiple aspects of the product creation process.
  • Strong connection with the consumer. Sets up and leads focus group sessions and collects insights that lead into meaningful product propositions.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to curate hyper-local and regionally relevant solutions.
  • Surface opportunities and facilitate solutions for immediate impact by use of existing resources, process innovation, and talent development.
  • Define near and long term initiatives to unlock speed, product excellence
  • Influences, and negotiates with functional teams on product process goals. Act as "product conscience" for the category/division.
  • Plans and tracks key business milestones, and ensures product is available at key review meetings.
  • Provides functional leaders, development managers, and manufacturing teams with information they need to run their businesses.
  • Maintains strong connections with manufacturing regarding quality and production issues, and makes decisions around the quality and profitability of product.
  • Tracks and measures product performance & profitability through sales/margin reports.

Functional Skill Required (Hard skills):

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 6 years directly relevant work experience
  • Analytical skill for data analysis and mapping
  • Apparel knowledge (understands the importance of fit, form, function, style)
  • Understands the influence of trends and regional product opportunities.
  • Create impactful presentations

Experience Required (Soft skills):

  • Understands organizational and product strategies and priorities, as well as future trends, and fosters common goals across functional disciplines.
  • Must possess a strong consumer and end in mind approach to work.
  • Effective project and resource management experience with a proactive approach to team specific issues.
  • Experience in streetwear / street culture / fast fashion is a plus.
