Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Gatekeeper of the product
    • Controls the content and features in the product and associated changes.
    • Owns execution of the product roadmaps aligned with GPMs (Global Product Managers) including driving design, testing and implementation of CIPs with Engineering
    • Works with manufacturing on execution of manufacturing roadmaps including Make-To-Stock, ReOrder Points and manufacturing hours reduction projects.
  • MCOS (Material Cost of Sales) and TCOS (Total Cost of Sales) watchdog
    • Collaborates with Engineering and Materials organizations to identify and execute MCOS and TCOS reduction projects.
  • Owns product change management (PCM) and control
    • Unreleased product approval and control
    • ECO (Engineering Change Order) approval
    • Implementation of PCN (Part Change Notification), with Global Product Support
    • Provides guidance/input to Engineering and the Business Unit about the field service impact of part/supplier changes.
    • Monitors cut-in of product changes to minimize impact to scrap, stranded inventory and rework.
    • Review, filters and approves/rejects feedback from the field that will have customer impact such as request for product changes.
  • Owns Platform Reliability
    • Reviews platform performance and closure of top reliability issues with Quality/Reliability, Engineering and GPS (Global Product Support)
  • Accuracy of customer shipped configurations and BOMs (Bill of Materials)
    • CaRM (Configuration accuracy Review Meeting) reviews
    • BOM (Bill of Materials) accuracy
    • NSR (Non Standard Request)  approval 
  • Owns common modules roadmap and implementation post Phase 5 of ePLC.
  • Implementation of component roadmaps including part obsolescence, replacements, alternative vendors and cost reduction
  • Facilitates Intercompany communication to align on product strategies, provide guidance on pricing, spare level contents, and restricted part orders. Facilitates alignment meeting for product roadmap and market proliferation
  • Implementation of cost reduction roadmap
  • Manage strategic vendor issues
  • Manage all changes to the product after product release
    • whether driven by engineering, quality, safety, customer demands or supply obsolesce
