Position Purpose & Summary
The Sweeteners Product Line Manager works closely with the Product Line Director to develop, recommend and implement the strategy for the assigned products to achieve the objectives defined in the S&S APAC business plan. Collaborates with commercial leaders in “asset countries” China, Indonesia, & India to propose new avenues for profitable growth and distinctive value proposition.

Jointly leads in collaboration with commercial leaders the overall pricing policy for responsible products within the region to ensure consistency and P&L optimization. Coordinates within business to optimize customer experience, maximize profit and capacity utilization. Proposes action plans to support profitable growth and speed-to-market. Develop relationships with key customers to allow for strategic growth and development with these customers. Consolidate the project pipeline in order to ensure a constant stream of project aimed at developing the overall profitability of the PL.

Principal Accountabilities
1.50% Under senior manager’s guidance, support on strategic priorities
  • Develop and implement the product line strategy (3-5 years). Work closely with business and local teams to ensure alignment of objectives and execution
  • Coordinate and lead the PRT (Portfolio Review Team) of the responsible products for APAC to ensure full alignment and execution of strategy, define priorities and manage appropriate resources. Proposes new avenues for profitable growth and distinctive value proposition
  • Work closely with APAC FIBI R&D team (TS/application) and commercial teams of asset countries as well as export commercial team to identify, and develop New Business opportunities.
  • Permanent review of product portfolio. For the latter, co-ordinate & drive the innovation pipeline & realization of new products
  • Innovation pipelines to ensure sustainable profitability by developing new products/innovations
  • Working closely with application group and technical service to develop new applications. Work to insure alignment of project priorities interfacing with geographic leaders, Applications and categories’ technical teams and/or TAP. Liaise with other Cargill Business Units.
  • Lead in collaboration with commercial leaders the overall pricing policy for the region to ensure consistency and P&L optimization. Develop and maintain (in collaboration with global S&S) transparent process to select best sourcing plant to maximize Cargill Inc P&L. Maximize pricing through strategic pricing.
  • Lead and be accountable for the IBP review she/he is in charge of
  • Owns the competitive intelligence process for sweeteners in the region with the support of the local teams including “asset countries” (S&D, cost curves, competitors strategies etc…). Uses the Competitive Intelligence output to tactical and strategic plan.
  • Key performance measure: Gross Margin.

2.40% Customer Focus initiatives
  • Collaborate across Cargill businesses and functions to discover, design and develop effective solutions for the customer that help differentiate Cargill offering versus competition. Build customer enthusiasm and accelerate enterprise customer focus within the region.
  • Works through the local sales team to develop per country customer mapping, identify new opportunities and ensure successful execution.
  • Develop and support sweetener key customers development in collaboration with KAM (Key account management) and/or ECL (Enterprise Customer Lead).
  • Make pricing decision together with key account manager and commercial manager for key accounts.
  • In case of capacity-/availability limitations, manage customer and product portfolio regionally under clear margin and channel optimization aspects and strategic consideration.
  • Drive product value proposition including product mix optimization, appropriate training and communication support to the commercial organization.
  • Provide direct support to the commercial organization by means of joint customer calls. Collect customer input/insight from sales and through customer meetings to be integrated as part of product line strategy

Qualifications
Education, Experience, Skills
1.Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree
  • 10 years progressive sales management experience
  • Proven influencing skills (downward, upward and peer to peer)
  • Strong business acumen
  • Manage/leading virtual teams
  • A strong customer focused approach
  • Strong business development and customer intimacy mind-set
  • Proven process orientation, especially around sales processes
  • Proven ability to drive sales performance in line with business and enterprise strategies/priorities
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in matrixed organizations

2.Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years Cargill experience
  • Significant food industry experience
  • Broad Cargill experience
  • Experience with operating a business model based on customer intimacy & business development with a strong food technology focus.
