This unit is tasked with driving the sustainability agenda of our business at Siemens Motion Control, including not only the products we offer to our customer, but also our self-imposed obligation to more sustainability in our own value chain, as expressed in the Siemens’ DEGREE framework. Your tasks will be: As member of a team dedicated to driving sustainability at Siemens Motion Control, your focus will be on the sustainability of our products Supported by colleagues from Product Management and R&D, you will be accountable for performing life cycle analyses for our Portfolio and creating environmental product declarations to inform our customers about the ecological footprint of our products Based on these analyses, you will work with R&D colleagues to identify and prioritize measures to improve the environmental performance of our products, thus responding to a growing demand from our customers as well as from society This may include the further improvement of our products’ energy efficiency, dematerialization, or life cycle prolongation through better serviceability As expert for product-specific sustainability you will be part of a company-wide competence network You will drive the exchange of experiences and best practices with other units at Siemens as well as with our corporate departments At the same time, you will continuously improve the overall knowledge about eco-design within the Motion Control organization Your Qualification and Expertise: A university or comparable degree in a technical discipline, such as engineering or science, and/or an extended work experience in product development Genuine enthusiasm about sustainability, both in a private and in a company context Analytical skills to analyze the ecological impact of our products along their entire lifecycle, and to derive and quantify improvement levers. Deep knowledge in the use of tools to perform product lifecycle analyses, or alternatively the strong willingness to quickly learn how to use such tools.
