Job Title: Product Manager
Report to: Global Marketing Manager (DHC)
Business Unit: DSM Hydrocolloids / DSM亲水胶体
Location: Shanghai
The Position:
- The product manager will play a key role to set the long-term product strategy and manage the product roadmaps. In short term, key role of this individual is to professionalize DHC’s product and portfolio management as a solid foundation to further grow the business. Key efforts including but not limited to:
- Deveop 3-year strategic plan for focused product lines
- Deveop and maintain product handbook that documents product instructions, requirements, legislative status, and typical response to customers (for critical questions), etc. as a tool for successful internal knowledge management, as well as professionalize communication towards customers
- Colaborate with innovation and sales team to define and prioritize new business development needs (e.g. new applications, new products).
- Foca point for Business Management of Change (MOC-business)
- This role is also important to support leading pricing strategy formulation and taking necessary pricing actions to enhance profitability, ensuring integrity and accuracy in all pricing matters.
- Manage tota pricing procedure, enhance processes to make most of efficiencies and ensure timely response to market conditions.
- Assist with pricing negotiations of customers’ proposas.
- Equally important to this role is to develop the core business of DHC, including but not limited to dairy, plant protein beverages, drinkable jellies, etc. The purpose is to further develop and deepen of the core segment business by identifying and further refining the key revenue and profitability drivers.
- Continued revenue and profitabe growth via refining our M&S efforts, i.e. Identify the key growth and revenue drivers for each key segment and customers by in-depth market insight, value proposition and understand of customer needs
- Enhancing the pipeine of application concept development by in-depth understanding of the market/s, product and customers’ needs. This wil require close collaboration with Application and Sales teams
- Expansion of core marketing competencies
- The position will also require assisting DHC and collaborating in building marketing related documentation, communications, trade shows and social media presence, where required and is decided that such promotional work is in line with the requirements for a successful execution.
- Given the flat hierarchy and DHC still being in the growth phase of business development, as other work demands, and projects arise, be willing to support other business requirements (e.g. integration of a company, CRM implementation).
The Ideal:
- BS degree in business, marketing, food sciences, biology, chemistry or related field.
- Profound knowledge and experience in food and beverages
- Proven experience in product management and pricing role
- Experience in supporting sales to large accounts
- Experience in marketing/sales in the food or ingredient industry.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in a team environment
