Eaton’s CRDS Division is seeking a Product Manager for its Commercial Buildings Management Software portfolio. The role of the Product Manager will be to own and execute the roadmap for optimization software solutions to create energy efficient, grid interactive commercial building and distributed energy resources. This Product Manager position will be in Peachtree City, GA or Los Angeles, CA or may be remote within continental North America, as appropriate. Position Overview: The product manager provides leadership in formulation and implementation of product line strategy, marketing plans and growth programs, and new product development / customer value propositions to enhance sales and profitability growth for the Connected Solutions product line. The product manager leads all aspects of VOC (voice of customer), administering the process and implementing collection for the product line. This role drives and completes all marketing activities and documents required for Pro-Launch New Product Development projects. It also is involved in business development with the extended product line and engineering team. The product manager works closely with the Connected Solutions Engineering team and CRDS product line teams to drive customer solutions and innovation. The product manager will have an excellent knowledge of the product line’s customers (Contractors, Distributed Energy Resources (DER) & Renewable OEMs, Commercial Real Estate builders & management companies), core and emerging vertical market segments and a thorough understanding of the dynamics of selling new and emerging technologies. In this function you will: Lead evolution of the objectives/key results and product roadmap based on customer feedback, market analysis, competitive research, and strategic priorities Conducts customer development interviews to test hypotheses around customer problems, what product to build, and why. Partners with sales, marketing, engineering, and peer product managers to gather and prioritize product needs Communicates product vision, product-market fit metrics, risks, and key decisions to senior leadership Develops product positioning to communicate our unique value proposition. Leads content development for product marketing collateral and technical literature. Trains sales teams, implementation teams, and customer end users to enable adoption Participates in scoping, solution design, and customer presentations for strategic sales opportunities Develops and manages product budget to meet P&L targets Develops build/buy/partner recommendations and detailed business case analysis Delivers thought-leadership presentations at customer and industry events Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business field from an accredited university. MBA or equivalent is a plus. Seven (7) years of experience in marketing, sales, engineering or product management Two (2) years of experience in Energy Management System, Building Energy Management Systems, or Fleet Management Systems markets Three (3) years of experience in a software product owner, software business analyst, or software product management role Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Position Criteria: Demonstrated ability to collect and process Voice of Customer information into concise product requirements. Experience working in an Agile software development environment where customer requirements evolve over time and must be rapidly translated into development-facing product requirements. Ability to work effectively in team environment and independently. Ability to collaborate across a matrix organization and influence resources (that are not direct reports) Familiarity with IoT concepts – especially as they apply to remote monitoring, management and control of complex devices Familiarity with cloud computing concepts as they relate to Product Lifecycle Management Familiarity with Power Distribution equipment from the Transformer to the Socket/Switch Familiarity with wireless and RF communication protocols: Z-Wave, Zigbee, Bluetooth Low Energy and Wi-Fi Excellent customer, presentation, and communication skills Demonstrated problem-solving ability. Market and competitive research, statistical analysis for forecasting Strong learning agility and being able to apply this in challenging environments Ability to learn market influences. Develop detailed market analysis and build business cases for new product introductions Product application knowledge, good business acumen, and the ability to develop and execute tactical and strategic plans to support the product line's goals. Must exhibit a willingness and ability to provide a leadership role within the department and motivate peers and team members. Working knowledge of standard MS office tools (Excel, Teams, Powerpoint) and agile development support tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.) Why work at Eaton?
