They partner with talented cross-functional team members (across engineering, design, data science, etc.) and lead teams to execute upon a shared vision. They are incredibly hands on and are not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the right outcome for our community. 

The Relevance team at Airbnb is responsible for delivering intelligent rankings and relevant content that delight our Guests and Hosts. This requires us to develop a deep understanding of all elements of a trip, especially our Guests and Hosts, and to work in close partnership with teams across the company. We build cutting-edge ML technologies and infrastructure to personalize the end-to-end search journey and deliver innovative new experiences.

The Difference You Will Make:

As a Product Manager on the Relevance team, you will guide the development of projects that shape Airbnb’s search and recommendation products. Working closely with a senior team of machine learning experts, you will both thoughtfully uplevel our current search experience around the evolving needs of our marketplace along with quickly iterating to craft innovative new search experiences. 

A Typical Day:

  • Roadmap: Lead the generation and execution of a hypothesis- and data-driven roadmap of Airbnb’s search and recommendation products.
  • Goals: Define successful product outcomes with clearly measurable objectives and key results. Create accountability against goals.
  • Experimentation: Leverage online controlled experiments and quantitative and qualitative user insights to make data-informed decisions. Make tradeoffs to balance long-term and short-term growth that benefit the user.
  • Leadership: Lead and inspire team and partners through ambiguity, challenges, and pivots. Influence positive outcomes by working across the team, cross-functional partners, and leadership.
  • Communication: Communicate crisply and concisely in any medium. Demonstrate strong storytelling and narrative writing capabilities. 

Your Expertise:

  • 7+ years of product management experience
  • Demonstrated track record of product leadership.  Ability to lead and influence teams.
  • Ability to quickly absorb technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment
  • Creative problem solver. Able to identify real obstacles and viable solutions
  • Outcome-oriented. Not reactionary, articulates the desired outcome and works collaboratively to create a path to achieve it
  • Experience building model-driven products that benefit the end user
  • Worked with data at scale and empowering organizations through data and insights
  • Prior experience in ranking or recommendations 

How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $180,000 and $230,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.  

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. Airbnb,Inc. can employ in  states where we have registered entities. Currently, employees can not be located in: Alaska, Indiana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Delaware and Rhode Island.
