How will you make an impact?
The Product Manager formulates strategies and executes them to meet and exceed growth targets of their business segment. The product manager is responsible for long-term growth opportunities for products in their segment. They will have comprehensive knowledge of all marketing intelligence of their segment including; market share, competitors, customers, commercial opportunities. They will recommend new requirements or products and participate in cross-functional development teams who develop these products from concept through to launch.
What will you do?
- Manage all aspects of the product lifecycle
- Responsible for implementing pricing, competitive positioning, value proposition, promotion, product roadmaps, forecasting, and channel strategy
- Analyze segment, market and channel trends utilizing industry research, including client research and focus groups
- Identify new product opportunities for the marketplace
- Create, manage and monitor business plan for all new and existing products
- Provide strategy and direction for all promotions for new and existing products to increase revenue and profit; product launches, web, commercial promotions, customer and commercial training
- Supports supplier negotiations and contract development
- Drive collaboration and communication with the LC, GC and SP product lines
- Help drive strategy for new products within chromatography
How will you get here?
Education
- BS degree required; Biology, Chemistry or Engineering degree preferred
- Advanced degree (e.g. MS, Ph.D., MBA) is a plus
- Proven Sales, Marketing or Product Management experience required
- Experience with Sample Handling products (vials, plates, closures) is a plus
- Experience in the laboratory industry, preferably in a chromatography and separation sciences
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Works cooperatively with others in sharing and listening to ideas.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to draw actionable conclusions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Product Manager is an avenue to Product Management Director or senior marketing or sales management positions
