Job Description

Job Title: Product Manager, Software

Location: Remote anywhere in the US

How will you make an impact?

We are looking for a proactive, results-driven individual to join a highly collaborative and fast-moving team dedicated to developing the next generation transplant diagnostics products. As a Software Product Manager you will be responsible for developing, driving, and managing a software road map. You will partner with other product managers to integrate and simplify analysis and data management workflows across multiple assay product lines and ensure alignment with other internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for software throughout the entire life-cycle, from gathering requirements, coordinating development efforts, through implementation and eventual sunsetting of the products. In this role, you will be working directly with our customers to understand market needs and trends and will work closely with software developers to scope, prioritize, implement, and rapidly deliver new product releases.

What will you do?

  • Understand customer needs and translate requirements into workflows, use cases, and specifications. Understand client needs by periodically visiting customers.
  • Manage software product development life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • Work with other product managers to support new product launches and use proven research methodologies and VOC to identify key opportunities for product development and improvements.
  • Develop and implement a 5-year product road map aligned to business strategy.
  • Use data to drive decision making to the scope and prioritize new requirements or defects/issues in the product based on business and customer impact
  • Ensure the voice of the customer and overall target market requirements define new and enhanced products that solve customer challenges.
  • Represent market requirements during the product development process to ensure the product meets customer-driven product design specifications.
  • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan for all major software releases.
  • Analyze potential partner relationships for the product.
  • Propose user interface prototypes, discuss usability aspects with experts. Perform or coordinate UI/UX activities
  • Develop and execute product launch plans, in collaboration with other product managers and with global and regional marketing.
  • Help develop and deploy key market messages and communication strategies for the product line with the Marketing support team.
  • Become a subject matter expert in product markets and provide vision and leadership to technology R&D efforts.
  • Monitor and analyze new technologies and inform the company of their potential applications to our business. Conduct and lead formal market analysis.
  • Document and/or review operators manual (functional)
  • Develop OEM/development agreements with key partners.

Travel

Domestic and international travel 20-25% of the time

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Med Tech, Life Sciences, or computer science-related field

Experience

  • Minimum of 1-year product management experience; knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC) a plus
  • Basic knowledge of software development platforms, databases, and infrastructure
  • Work experience in the HLA field or clinical lab environment
  • Working knowledge of medical device requirements including: Quality System Regulation (21 CFR 820), IEC 62366, ISO 13485, ISO 14971
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of ISO 13485, QSR and Design Control requirements preferred

  • Excellent effective written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule tradeoffs and opportunistic new ideas with technical and non-technical employees and customers
  • Requires effective analytical, problem-solving, organization and prioritization skills
  • Must possess excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
