How will you make an impact?

Our Product Manager will lead a part of our rapidly growing 1-step RT-qPCR master mix business. The Product Manager will develop product line and go-to-market strategy, champion the product line with both internal and external customers and bring new products to market to meet business and company goals.

What will you do?
  • Define product positioning, go-to-market, lifecycle and new product introduction (NPI) strategy based on a deep understanding of market trends, market segmentation, customer needs, technologies, competitor products and business unit goals
  • Gather voice of customer information and maintain relationships with key customers to inform NPI and go to market strategy
  • Understand and elucidate internal and external customer requirements then translate those to new product requirements
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure that revenue, margin, customer satisfaction, and growth goals are achieved
  • Assist with the management of sales forecast and operations/planning to ensure proper inventory management of product line
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop and present our positioning and marketing messages to internal and external customers
  • Work as part of a dynamic team of R&D, program management, marketing, operations, quality, regulatory and business development professionals to execute our common mission
  • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
 
Nature and Scope

This Product Manager is the 1-step RT-qPCR product line champion, with the ability to clearly convey both internally and externally how the products within the line uniquely meet customer and market needs. The Product Manager routinely interacts with varying levels of internal and external personnel and requires the ability to present technical, application and product information to scientists, as well as business and marketing information to internal stakeholders. The position requires a collaborative team-focused approach and often requires the ability to gain the cooperation of others.

A good balance between strategy and execution is essential. The Product Manager develops a deep understanding of relevant markets, segments, customers, technologies, competitors and the company’s capabilities then effectively synthesizes the information to craft a decisive path forward. The Product Manager converts strategies to plans, then drives those plans through implementation, measurement and refinement as needed. Effectiveness in this role requires the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing and to work cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization. As the product line champion, the Product Manager is also an effective problem-solver and process improvement champion, partnering with a wide variety of internal stakeholders to improve product differentiation, reliability, availability, and profitability to improve customer satisfaction, drive revenue and meet business objectives. 
 
How will you get there?

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S./B.A.) in a scientific discipline (molecular biology, genetics or biochemistry preferred)
Required Experience and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in product management, marketing, or program management, preferably on a global scale
  • A team player with a bias for action and driving projects to fruition.
  • Proficient in understanding, analyzing and summarizing comprehensive and complex technical, financial, market and research information / data.
  • Strategic thinker. Able to create strategy, and adapt to grow faster than the market
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to influence others
  • Is customer-centric and keenly aware of markets, trends and competitors
  • Greets challenge and change as opportunity 
  • Inspires, motivates and collaborates with others
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
