Product Marketing Manager – General Purpose Drives

Job Description
Position Overview: As a critical member of the Motion Control Business Unit team, the person in this role will be responsible for product marketing management of Siemens, Sinamics general purpose drive family. This individual would be responsible for implementing and executing on the strategy for growth in units/revenue for the products they will be responsible for by providing customer facing content creation that elevates the success of those products and any associated campaigns that they would develop for those products. The ideal candidate for this role would have in-depth knowledge of Siemens Drives and/or drive technology in general as well as various drive application knowledge and serve as a liaison to R&D for future product developments/enhancements to meet US specific requirement. This person would be the subject mater expert for their drive family/products and must possess the capabilities to acquire this expertise or demonstrate already possessing that knowledge and know how to communicate those benefits and value propositions. Must be able to convert a function or feature and develop the “so what” to the customer as part of their collateral creation. The position will report to the Motion Control Director of Marketing/Programs and Promotions. This person will collaborate with the Product Marketing teams, Marketing Communications, and Direct and Indirect Sales teams as well as our various channels to market. Responsibilities: Driver of product enhancements per market & business need/ Liaison to Head Quarters • Provides input and guidance during development stage regarding requirements for product to be successful in USA market • Provide feedback on existing systems for improvements • Prioritize future enhancements including UL needs specific to US requirements • Know the counterparts in HQ in relevant organization to build relationship for success • Become the trusted adviser for US needs Product Launches • Coordinate with HQ on sales promotion materials and/or develop additional promotional materials locally • Communicate appropriate information on product launch with USA colleagues (Sales, Eng, Service, SCM) • Provide pilot customer opportunities to HQ and coordinate pre-delivery release pilot customer projects Product Collateral • Develop and coordinate with Marketing Communication on product marketing projects • Owner and drivers of various collateral: Presentations; demo’s; Regional Web presence; Success Stories; trade publications presence (PR); Social media presence, etc. Product Promotions & Programs • Assist with strategic sales direction/activities • Execute on strategy & activities based on market knowledge • Provide support with activities related to strategic sales direction • Support efforts related to exhibition at tradeshows and events • Participate in appropriate conferences & Associations Product Competitor knowledge • Understand key competitors’ position in the market • Knowledge of key competitors’ products • Communicate key information regarding competition to appropriate personnel • Market share understanding by competitor • Competitor SWOT analysis • Develop marketing strategy • Develop Product Value Proposition Customer contacts / visits / presentations • Execute customer presentations & demos to promote products at customers • Technical Product Support Pre-Sales • Manage customer escalation involving product problems • Answer product variance questions • Proof of concept WE VALUE • The ability to work optimally across internal and external organizations in a matrixed organization with self-motivation and drive • Outstanding problem-solving, analytical and research skills • Experience marketing to various personas across the spectrum for our industry • Effective change agent, constantly challenging thinking, and approach, to drive breakthrough results • Sense of urgency • Collaborative, team-oriented attitude • A Proactive individual with an extreme attention to detail Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience: • BS Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • 2-10 years’ experience in similar or related market • Understanding of Low Voltage Variable Speed Drives specifically a working knowledge of low voltage drive systems(preferable Sinamics products). • Experience in selecting and applying low voltage drive components/products • Knowledge of industry standards, such as UL/NEC/IEC/IEEE, etc. • Product Lifecycle Management • Organization and time management skills • Verbal and written communication skills • Self-starter and detailed oriented, quick learner Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the Unites States.
