Eaton’s Digital Office is currently seeking a Product Owner to support our Brightlayer Utility software platform. This is a remote based position. Position Overview: The Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the Brightlayer Utility platform offering by working directly with stakeholders to understand market needs and creating detailed technical requirements (user stories) for the R&D team. The Product Owner directs engineering teams on requirements, performance and acceptance criteria to execute the roadmap and guide the product development lifecycle. The Product Owner plays the role of technical requirements definition in pure play Agile settings and works with the R&D team as a proxy for the customer. In this function you will: Responsible for detailed user stories pertaining to customer personas and customer journeys Manage and prioritize the product development backlog Communicate the voice of customer (VOC) and stakeholder needs to the R&D team as the customer and domain expert Act as the liaison with between product managers, software engineering, software architects, documentation teams and other internal partners (IT, CCIS, CIP, DevOps) Actively collaborate with stakeholders in cloud software roadmap discussions Work with third party partners utilizing Eaton’s digital solutions Why work at Eaton? Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in science, technology, engineering or math from an accredited institution Minimum of six-years of experience in managing moderate to high complexity Agile software projects in fast paced, matrixed, global organization Proven experience working with stakeholders capturing product requirements and translating to Agile user stories Minimum of two-years of experience delivering API integration portals to third party vendors Practical experience with cloud-based software deployments, IoT and cloud architectures Ability to communicate, both verbal and written, technical concepts in a simple and intuitive way Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to different audiences at varying levels of the organization Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future Preferred qualifications: Experience using Jira for story creation, backlog management and sprint planning Experience or working knowledge of Design Thinking concepts for requirement gathering Comprehensive understanding of the current trends and best practices in web, IoT and cloud technologies Strong practical knowledge of agile methodologies, product development, information architecture, usability testing, and UX/UI Familiarity with the technical architectural considerations involved when designing for complex systems Knowledge of common software programs such as Java, C++, Python, JSON, etc. Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.
