Product Owner - Transportation Management System

In this vital role you will lead the Logistics and Transportation Management capability teams within the Operations Digital, Technology & Innovation (OPS DTI) group to support the Global Supply Chain business organization. We are embarking on our journey to implement a new Transportation Management System (SAP S/4) as part of advancing strategic capabilities within Amgen’s Supply Chain to enable digitalization, faster decision making & speed to/in market. As the Logistics and Transportation Management Product Owner, you will report into the Order to Cash Product Manager and you will work closely with the functional and technology partners at each stage of the development lifecycle to build and sustain the best fitting technology solutions using Agile and Scrum methodologies.
You will develop and maintain a vision for how technology can be leveraged to solve critical business problems, understand the impact of technical solutions on business outcomes and ensure to improve the ROI of investments made. You will proactively lead the collaboration and engagement with various partners and help in delivering best practice solutions based on business requirements.
This role will be critical in our path of transformation to have a best-in-class Transportation Management capability and you will be using a portfolio of systems like SAP Transportation Management, ERP/SAP, Rapid Response/Kinaxis, Data Lake, Control Tower and Project44.
- Work closely and lead discussions with partners to elicit information in order to understand true business needs as User Stories
- Exhibit business process expertise in Logistics overall and more specifically in Transportation and Warehouse Management.
- Operate as the Technical Product Owner for the End-2-End solution within your domain.
- Lead and support the analysis, solution, design, and estimation of various projects and backlog items that address business problems
- Prioritize work based on understanding of requirements and business impact
- Understand technology strategy and help develop business case alternatives which anticipate the future direction of the business

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Master’s degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Associate degree and 10 years of Information Systems
Or
High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement, involving broad-based information systems, using tools and techniques to effect business change
- Ability to understand business strategy and needs and support the translation into application requirements
- Ability to create compelling business cases balancing business benefits and costs
- Ability to understand business complexity and project interdependencies
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
- Solid understanding of basic system engineering, information risk and security guidelines and architecture standards
- Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus
- Ability to work and facilitate alignment across functional boundaries and multiple global geographies
- Ability to build internal and external relationships
- Ability to develop clear and detailed business requirements and design specifications that can be understood by other delivery teams and business partners
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrable experience in the following areas:
- Business Analysis
- Defining a business case
- Lead discussion with business and IS partners
- Model requirements
- Validate solutions
- Project and Product management
- Creating and maintaining backlog of user stories
Knowledge in the following areas:
- SAP - familiarity with overall Order to Cash process
- Transportation Management Systems

- Warehouse Management Systems
