Job Description

The Network and Edge Solutions Group (NESG) is one of Intel's fastest growing business units, leading the World on innovative Edge and 5G Solutions with a strategy to democratize Networking Infrastructure with Intel Architecture (IA) through Network Functions Virtualization and Virtualized Radio Access Networks. This enables a transformation of networking solutions from purpose built / proprietary architectures to the world of standard off-the-shelf processors where software primarily defines the features. This unleashes lower capital / operational expenses and higher flexibility to the Communications Service Providers.

The NESG Product Quality and Reliability Team is responsible for the quality and reliability of NESG Products from Pre-Silicon through Post-Production.

We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Product Quality and Reliability (QnR) Engineer responsible for executing multiple tasks and providing QnR Leadership for the products to meet our committed QnR Goals and delight NESG customers.

Microelectronic Quality Reliability Engineers provide project management, product, process design/development and sustaining support for integrated circuit or semiconductor assemblies, various other electronic components, sub systems and/or completed units.

In this role you will need to work for physical understanding, model prediction and enhancement of quality and reliability for advanced products, transistor, interconnect, assembly/package and testing process. Define Si/assembly/package qualification requirement and responsible for product qualification or technology certification.

Define/develop and conduct stress tests, ensure design requirements are met and conduct research on individual technology components as well as integrated circuit/products. Develop cost effective production monitoring and screening schemes to ensure process is stable and products meet committed quality and reliability performance.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Qualifications listed as preferred or additional will be considered a plus factor for applicants. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent engineering discipline. And 1+ years of relevant experience. Or
  • Master's degree on Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent engineering discipline or
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent engineering discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Foundation in semiconductor device physics, circuit design and/or architecture.
  • Planning and/or running accelerated stress testing or component qualification.
  • FMEA assessment and 8Ds methodology.
  • Experience in empirical data collection and statistical data analysis, reliability statistics, and design of experiments.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor High-Volume Manufacturing fabrication and assembly packaging processes and testing flow.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
