Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Product/VAVE Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Syracuse, NY location and is eligible for a hybrid work setup. Position Overview: We are currently seeking to hire a Product Engineer - VAVE to enhance new product development, product support, value engineering, and product specification. As the Product Engineer - VAVE, you will be responsible for VAVE (Value added, Value Engineer) products that produce a high profit margin and greater value to our customers. This is a role that will provide the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other business areas including Marketing, Sales, and Operations. It will require you to have ambition, drive, strong engineering fundamentals, with enthusiasm in the product design and cost arenas. A highly entrepreneurial sense of urgency along with a passion for the industry is desirable A strong drive to grow both personally and professionally is ideal for this role. You will possess the capability to align product growth with the overall strategic game-plan as well as have the competence to complete the day-to-day tasks. The position will allow you to demonstrate your ability to drive innovation from ideation through Six Sigma processes, identification of product adjacencies, identification and execution of cost savings initiatives through VA/VE & product rationalization. The position will require you to be highly proficient in project management and documentation with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel with enabling rapid development of new design concepts. In this role you will: Utilize manufacturing background to drive designs toward manufacturing capabilities Identify and execute cost out projects to drive Value Added Value Engineering (VAVE) Maintain and upgrade existing products Utilize manufacturing knowledge to uncover new opportunities Assist with 3rd party certifications and develop and test prototypes for new product ideas as well as create product specifications Partner with quality assurance to establish product quality standards consistent with the needs of the market Create and maintain project development plans as well as create and execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) Utilize Phase-Gate process to manage projects When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum of 1 year engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. (experience gained during an internship/co-op will be counted toward this) Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Syracuse NY will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
