This role is responsible for purchase order reconciliation and tracking, WIP reporting, sourcing related data management and developing strong vendor relationships

Vendor Management

• Provides support during vendor on-boarding
• Supports maintenance of vendors in REI systems
• Ensures vendors understand REI vendor manual requirements
• Trains vendors on new tools and processes
• Read, understand and communicate vendor scorecard data and conclusions with vendors as necessary
• Coordinates feedback to and from vendors. Works to support action plans based on HQ direction

Production Planning & Management

• Monitors and ensures compliance to production timeline milestones utilizing WIP report
• Conduct physical validation of WIP data during vendor visits
• Reports on vendor capacities and ability to service REI seasonal forecast
• Support resolution of bulk order minimum issues
• Proactively communicates production/delivery issues, cause and solutions
• Contributes to timely resolution of issues related to production and deliveries
• Works with HQ to execute expedited shipping and supports the processing of related expenses.
• Supports the sample procurement process
• Aggregates and reports on seasonal liability by vendor

Fair Labor, Trade & Legal Compliance

• Support REI’s Fair Labor policies and activities
• Support the maintenance of vendor profile
• Assist with in-country export-related issue resolution.

System & Process Improvements

• Identifies and assists with process improvement in product development interface, order flexibility, WIP & PO management, and on time delivery.
• Contributes to the ongoing definition and development of Sourcing systems and processes

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree preferred
• 3+ years’work experience planning/production/sourcing gear and/or apparel for USA, European or Japanese brands
• Strong knowledge of materials, construction and general quality standards and requirements used in product development, production and assembly
• Proficient in MS Office and aptitude for mastering proprietary systems, I.E. Enovia & SAP
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken)
