The position of Production Chemist III is within our Cardiometabolic business unit located at Carlsbad, CA. Under minimal ongoing supervision, this position is responsible for a variety of manufacturing support functions involving the operation of lab equipment and conduct of procedures/tasks according to established GMP under the direction of senior staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carry out complex production tasks in support of manufacturing goals and objectives for the ARDx mammalian cell culture laboratory.
Operate complex laboratory equipment safely, as trained and directed, and in accordance with established practices.
Maintain records and notebooks as directed in a neat, thorough and accurate manner. Perform required data entry on company planning and materials management system.
Recommend and participate in document revisions including BOMs, process descriptions and non-conformance/NCMR processes for mammalian cell culture product lines.
Follow all safety guidelines, manufacturing policies and procedures. Operate under strict QSR and ISO compliance.
Supports, leads, or participates in all OpEx activities
Supports, leads, or participates in all People Development activities. Limited supervisory responsibilities.
Understands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job; has awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification and validation, manufacturing and testing activities
Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:
BA or BS degree; or minimum or equivalent work experience
Four to six years (BA/BS) experience post BA/BS or two to four years post MA/MS experience in the above areas, with particular skills and knowledge in the field of mammalian cell culture (growth, expression, harvest, purification, and process optimization).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BA or BS in Chemistry or Biological Sciences preferred
Demonstrated skills in carrying out laboratory/research assignments with minimal guidance in an accurate, effective manner.
Knowledge of a variety of lab equipment and their operation is preferred.
Knowledgeable of federal and other regulations, e.g. QSR’s, ISO, ISO 13485, CMDR
Demonstrate problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
