We are looking for a Production Controller in Port Melbourne, VIC. The Production Controller controls and monitors processes within production to ensure a smooth process of orders, taking into account optimum use of the resources.
Key responsibilities, but not limited are:
- Performs all tasks directly involved in preparation for production, taking account of the order situation, production capacities, stock levels, production- and delivery backlogs, procurement situations, personnel resources, cycle times, material delivery times, in order to create the conditions for an optimum production sequence.
- Daily management of workforce of a team of 15-20 employees and contractors.
- Completes the necessary production documentation and data for each production order to guarantee effective and high-quality handling of the work.
- Conducting
- Calls up materials, auxiliary and operating materials to ensure an on schedule start of the order regarding material supply.
- Controls the production sequences while keeping the optimum use of the resources in focus.
- Records and/or monitors workflow to map the current production status in the system.
- Works on coordinating material movements between production units for an optimum production run.
- Actively contributes to cooperation with all other stakeholders involved; passing on all relevant information, in order to keep themselves and others informed and create an optimum logistics chain.
Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience in a high mix / low volume production environment.
- Leadership experience of a small to medium size facility.
- Ideally experience working with client-specific designs and requirements.
- Proficient SAP experience (PP, WM, etc.).
- Excellent ability to communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders across the businesses.
- Excellent time management.
- Ability to build trust and confidence quickly and professionally.
