The opportunity:
The IT Operator role is a pivotal role in providing operation and production control support to business-critical systems. In this role you’ll perform checks, maintain system availability, monitor automated reporting, run MS Windows and AS/400 operational tasks and deploy new software. You’ll provide support to level 2 infrastructure and application teams and work with external vendors where needed.
You’ll be a part of a trans-Tasman team, reporting to the Infrastructure Operations Manager in Melbourne.

About the role:
Provide assistance with user issues and concerns
Provide guidance and assist Service desk team with Level 1 & 2 tickets where necessary
Work with business customers to ensure issue has been resolved
Provide troubleshooting and triage for Infrastructure related incidents and issues - MS Windows and AS/400
Promote software releases to Production environments
Run and operate MS Windows and AS/400 operational tasks including capacity and availability monitoring and creating/monitoring scheduled jobs
Coordinate tasks with Application Services and Vendors in resolving technical and application problems
Manage IT changes in PROD environment
Provide On Call support for batch run jobs and PROD application deployments
Assist and Co-ordinate DR preparation and exercises.
About you:
Experience working with MS Windows Operating system
Available to work during outside of normal office hours when necessary
Proven ability to develop and adhere to systems and processes
Windows trouble-shooting experience
Ideally, you’ll have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Diploma in IT System Administrator with 5 years’ experience
Assist transition project delivery into BAU
Strong sense of system management and compliance mindset.
