Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The primary responsibility of this position is to manage production activities and resources per established practices and/or policies within their operation area to ensure the timely delivery of quality parts that meet or exceed customer expectations. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive employee relationship environment by adherence to Eaton’s values, ethics and philosophies. This position drives a culture of continuous improvement in Production, Materials management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Safety while utilizing the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Proactively implements, promotes and maintains a safe working environment, through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, and equipment maintenance and rule enforcement. Makes work exciting, engaging, and meaningful for all employees. Drives the company's vision and mission by reinforcing ethics, values and quality policies throughout the department of responsibility. Drives continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements by applying appropriate Eaton Business System processes and problem-solving tools such as Eaton Lean System, 8D´s, A3´s and 5S. Sets, communicates, and achieves department goals and objectives and develops and maintains performance metrics as required to drive results and use those results as a tool to identify and initiate process improvements. Fully engages workforce and promotes personal accountability by identifying goals, empowering employees to drive decision making, foster innovation and continuously learn by providing ongoing feedback on employee performance with formal evaluation provided at least annually. Develops product line budget and manages manufacturing expenses within budgetary parameters. Collaborates with Maintenance and Engineering to establish product line capital goals. Develops profit plan and strategic plan details relating to production and support activities. Establishes product line inventory levels and controls inventory to the established goals. Works with plant staff in establishing the strategic plan for the facility. Builds organizational capability to support a high-performance culture. Actively participates in the plant annual objective planning session to establish a 3 to 5-year strategic plan for the manufacturing facility and participates EBS Pull and Profit Plan sessions. Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or technical field 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment 5 years manager/supervisory experience within a manufacturing or production setting Experience in: Assembly Process / CNC / Grinding Position Criteria: Strong project management skills Excellent written and communication skills Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate employees Capable of assessing and developing team skills and capabilities Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results & meeting organization objectives Experience in budgeting, capital equipment analysis, cost accounting and project cost analysis Knowledge of problem-solving techniques, (8D´s, 5W´s, A3) Demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing and 5S Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) Preferred Qualifications: Production and Project Management Experience Previous Automotive Experience Experience with MRP and BOM structure Master’s degree or MBA from accredited institution ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Skill Matrix trainings All the activities listed above are mentioned but not limited.
