PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Production Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager. This position is responsible for the overall management of all Factory employees, meaning all the departments that fall under ESS including PQ. The responsibility includes leading the Factory Teams in achieving production schedules, product quality, product cost, employee safety goals as well as Operational Excellence goals. In addition, the Production Manager will ensure the practical use of Eaton Business Tools to move the business forward in safety, efficiency and cost management ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Coordinates with all functional groups to meet customer requirements, drives Factory performance to achieve or exceed High 5 Metrics, financial plans and strategic goals by leveraging resources and motivating personnel to create high performance culture. Provide leadership, direction and manages all Factory operations to include manufacturing, operational excellence, materials, quality, safety and environment. Leads the adoption of best in class business practices associated with planning, executing, monitoring, and assessing of operational activities and performance. Possesses an inherent ability to recognize and act upon challenges and situations that contribute to success in manufacturing operations. Evaluates value streams and the effectiveness of their visual controls to understand the status of process health and capture sources of variation. Promotes the adoption of leader standard work to foster the proper behavior, establish the required discipline, and minimize individual dependency. Leads and champions a sustainable CI culture that will enable the realization of both incremental and breakthrough business results. Leads the development of detailed business case scenarios for the Factory. Prepares and analyzes business case elements related to Group, Sector or Eaton initiatives that drive cost, quality, and performance improvements. Aligns manufacturing strategies to overall strategic plans and considers overall impact across organizational boundaries. Advocates the use of all Eaton Business system (EBS) processes and tools in a manufacturing environment. This includes appropriate use of the Organizational Capabilities Plan (OCA), OPA, Profit Plan, and Strategic Plan to set direction and goals. Utilize EBS tools including MESH and ELSS proactively drive safety improvements and favorably reduce recordable and lost time injuries Integrated use of all appropriate Growth, Operational, Functional, Assessment, and Learning elements. Support the Plant CI OpEx Manager in the Eaton Business Excellence (EBE) certification process at the site. Ensure the team delivers Cost Productivity projects and results, including participating in a monthly project review of key projects and serving on the cost out council to drive timely reviews of results and progress Leverage existing EBS tools to reduce manufacturing costs, improve efficiency and eliminate waste measured in labor productivity and cost per labor hour Drive performance management and develop a talent pool for critical roles / scarce skills Are you? Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: National Diploma in Electrical Engineering / B-Tech or Equivalent Minimum 5 years people management experience In-depth practical / technical knowledge of the ESS factory Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing principles Be able to read and understand electrical drawings CORE COMPETENCIES Ensure safe working conditions and drive safety compliance in the factory Ability and willingness to work with diverse teams Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Good presentation skills Proven capability to lead change in a team environment.
