Job Description
Eaton’s Vehicle division is currently seeking a Production Planner to join our team. This position is based at our Aguascalientes facility. The Production Planner is responsible for understands and supports the planning, ordering, scheduling and tracking of customer material requirements in order to meet and/or exceed delivery provisions and production schedules. Plan, schedule and expedite material releases for the product line. Schedule production lines using the MRP system. Manage all inventory levels to reach plant & divisional goals. Some activities related with the position will be: Maintains the quantity of materials needed to support production schedules. Tracks inbound purchases, communicates materials shortages, reviews materials requirements against forecasted shipping specifications; reports resource issues and potential corrective actions to appropriate personnel. Manages schedules and oversees the ordering of material/part resources to meet production build specifications. Interfaces and assists suppliers in managing constraints, overcoming issues and planning corrective actions in order to attain 100% performance outcomes for supplier delivery systems. Create and distribute assembly schedules and review them with product line team members Trained as a qualified backup for the Master Scheduler position to temporarily cover the main responsibilities of the position when the Master Scheduler is out of the plant Support to pursue alternative materials procurement and sourcing methods to supplement MRP planning strategies. Actively participates in analyzing and maintaining appropriate inventory levels per customer specifications. Analyzes material requirements; plans and initiates schedules to support customer production schedule and plans. Updates resource planning/tracking database to ensure customer ship schedules are on-time and on-schedule. Supports the development of materials/resource requirements (build/ship schedules) for multiple production lines. Expedites and communicates schedule changes to appropriate personnel Documents and tracks on time supplier delivery matrix Identifies and documents new item attributes Documents, validates, and communicates add-ins and cancellations within frozen order board periods and notifies appropriate personnel. Notifies staff and appropriate personnel of potential and/or actual materials shortages that will impact customer production schedules. In charge to maintain the optimal inventory levels in the plant Demonstrate the application of the 8 CIF modules and support related initiatives on daily basis through establishing, maintaining and complying his/her Standard Work and other tools. Participate in Kaizen events, Lean Council and Continuous Improvement teams when required. Generate ideas for improvement according with the local programs. Implement and optimize Lean Management tools. Sustain the ELLS tools (VSM, 5´s, TMP, STW, set up, Problem Solving, Materials Management and 6 Sigma) to drive the continuous improvement performance when apply. Follow up of Customer Performance. #LI-UH1 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in production environment MRP knowledge Solid knowledge of Just-in-Time & LEAN manufacturing concepts Strong communications skills (Spanish & English) Demonstrated team-working and people management Preferred Qualifications: Ability to learn & master MRP system Ability to adapt & change according to customer demand Oracle would be a plus APICS would be a plus English language required We make what matters work.
