Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the daily operations and performance of the Specialty Fats production plant.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and quality operation of the plant.
• Manage the production, warehousing and packaging activities of the plant.
• Propose, manage and implement all aspects of the plant operations including budgeting and financial forecasting, planning, directing and daily operations, in line with the strategic business plans of LSHK.
• Ensure that production schedules and results are communicated to the entire plant staff.
• Coordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers.
• Implement cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures and labour.
• Develop, configure and optimize margarine plant processes from end to end to ensure quality of

raw materials and products are met or exceeded, and in compliance with regulatory and

customer’s required standards.

• Take a lead in all process deliverables for the margarine plant, including delivering the right quality

and quantity of products in a safe manner at the right time, while meeting customers’ demands at

the lowest possible costs.

• Investigate and troubleshoot margarine plant/process problems to minimize downtime and

ensure targets are met.

• Ensure all margarine plant equipment works to its specification and to appropriate capacities.
• Manage and provide guidance, support, coaching and act as direct resource to the margarine plant team as a process lead.
• Assist in the development of processing plans, methods, design, materials handling, manpower requirements, cost analysis and other areas.
• Standardize processes and procedures to simplify work for the margarine plant staff considering latest industry practices and other legal considerations governing the food industry.
• Drive continuous process/manufacturing improvements and collaborate with other line departments in product development and implementation.
• Ensure optimum plant production and utilization of human resources, machinery and equipment.
• Identify improvement opportunities and lead change.
• Drive team engagement, training and development to maximize safety, quality, and productivity.
• Drive a culture of high performance and efficiency, accountability in employee, zero accident, product quality and safety, and a strong awareness of the environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/ Process Engineering, Food Science or a related technological or technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience in food manufacturing facility (butter, margarine, fats and oil preferred) or related position is a must. Experience in GMPs, SOPs and HACCP preferred.
• Must be able to handle global brand specialty fat equipment production line and related equipment.
• Insight in the total value chain, the ability to learn production processes in detail and understanding of safety and quality management systems.
• People manager with drive and personality to achieve targets with focus on a high level of well-being for employees.
• Able to work in a multi-cultural and multi-racial environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in Chinese and English.

• Knowledge in 5S, OSHA, ISO9001 & ISO14000.
