Eaton’s Power Quality Division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - 1st Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Worcester, MA facility. Relocation assistance is available for this role! This is an exciting and unique opportunity as the Worcester plant recently became part of the Power Quality Division and the Production Supervisor will have exposure to multiple business units through acquisitions, change management activities, and a business ramp up. Position Overview: As a Production Supervisor, you will be an integral member of the Worcester Operations Team, with responsibilities to plan, coordinate, supervise and motivate the activities of all employees of the assigned product line. In addition, you will utilize the employees assigned to other product lines to meet or exceed our safety, quality, delivery, cost and efficiency goals, while assisting the Plant Manager Manager in implementing plant wide initiatives. In this function, you will: Provide direct supervision for production employees in assigned area. Participate in employment, staffing and performance management decisions, and maintain departmental personnel records and reports on productivity, quality, and attendance. Provide coaching, motivation, and counseling to employees to encourage optimum performance and continued skill development. Drive plantwide Continuous Improvement initiatives stemming from Worcester Plant Key Projects and others as deemed by the Plant Manager and other site Managers. Maintain all departmental, work, vacation, overtime and related schedules. Develop and implement schedules and manpower requirements to meet or exceed production plan. Plan and prioritize departmental as well as plant wide production schedules based on customer delivery dates, efficiencies, and material supplies. Monitor departmental and plantwide productivity to ensure that established quality and production levels are maintained or exceeded. Perform all duties assigned by management and deemed pertinent to the continued success of Eaton and employee objectives and/or goals. Champion the use of Eaton systems and tools to ensure appropriate execution within assigned areas. Engage employees in manufacturing LEAN initiatives including but not limited to operator standard work, 5S, pull systems, empowered work teams, and structured problem solving. Implement and support behavioral based zero incident safety culture. Foster an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement. Communicate company policies, procedures, and guidelines and ensure they are consistently practiced. Communicate effectively with other departments to expedite the workflow and ensure the established quality expectations. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of manufacturing experience. OR a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution and seven (7) years of manufacturing experience. Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: Lean Manufacturing experience/certification. Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite. MRP experience. Position Criteria: Ability to successfully interface with all organizational levels & departments. Good understanding and positive support of standard personnel and administrative policies, practices and legal requirements pertaining to business operations. Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, manage through conflict, and strive for continuous improvement. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems and engineering processes. Must be open and available to work weekend overtime as needed. Required working knowledge and experience with computers.
