Eaton’s Power Distribution Inc. Division is currently seeking a 2nd shift Lead Production Supervisor. This position is based at our Santa Ana, CA facility. Position Overview: The Lead Production Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating the manufacturing and production planning / scheduling activities of CPDI production lines to achieve maximum productivity at minimum cost, while maintaining world class levels Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. In this role, you will assist the Plant Manager in the development of processes to achieve a zero-incident culture, maximize output, reduce cost, and ensure proper flow of material through material planning, scheduling and expediting processes. Through these improvements, you will exceed the customers’ expectations by making sure that the organizational decision making is based on a process-oriented culture to ensure the linkage from strategy to action. Align department requirements with Eaton’s Quality Management System. Manage department operations and prioritize production requirements to meet on-time delivery for our customers Execute Eaton’s Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF): Create the basis for continuous improvement by ensuring that standardized processes are followed. Empower employees to improve the standard work and implement countermeasures when needed. Promote a team environment and develop direct reports through problem solving skill sets and other cross-training opportunities. You will facilitate cooperation across shifts and among other department supervisors Assist Management Team in determining personnel requirements, provide necessary training resources for new employees, and facilitate the job bidding process. Monitor and provide employee coaching with respect to safety, quality and productivity performance (attendance, training, coaching, overtime, vacation requests etc.) Lead daily accountability meetings with a cross-functional team focused on departmental performance and issue resolution (Tier, GEMBA). Lead weekly department meetings to communicate safety topics, department or plant-wide activities, business updates and policy/procedural changes as needed Create daily or weekly schedules of production lines as needed. Monitor capacity constraints or bottlenecks. Make recommendations regarding hourly staffing and overtime. Proactively communicate production, order, and material status of assigned product lines utilizing manufacturing and system information to maintain excellent internal / external customer outcomes. Effectively schedule and execute production / material / personnel schedules according to forecasted needs and capacity plans, remediating personnel, parts and engineering challenges and communicating impact with the appropriate internal and external resources. Utilize all material systems (ERP) align manufacturing production plan with appropriate engineering drawings / releases, material master data (stock, replenishment, lead time) and bills of material. Shows the highest level of responsibility and accountability for OTD. Works with Master Scheduler, Supply Chain Manager, and Production Manager to improve overall plant metrics. Lead improvement events and projects to make improvements to material flow, production planning / scheduling and manufacturing across assigned product lines. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an electrical manufacturing environment This role does not offer relocation, only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographic area (50 miles) of Santa Ana, CA. will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Qualifications: 5-10 years of supervisory experience in a electrical manufacturing environment preferred Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or supply chain management preferred Experience with MRP/ERP systems preferred Experience leading manufacturing teams in continuous improvement activities / projects / events Experience with Eaton component and assemblies products Position Criteria: Excellent communications skills – verbal, written and electronic Strong Computer / systems skills – Microsoft office products, ERP / MRP Continuous improvement mindset Strong accountability focus We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
