Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds Division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor, Swing Shift (2:30 pm to 11 pm) to join our team. This position is based at our Syracuse, NY facility. As a Production Supervisor, you will provide leadership and direction for a work group within the plant. You will track performance with respect to safety & the environment, quality, on time delivery, cost for their respective area. In addition, you are the first-line contact between production employees and the management staff. In this role you will: Conduct Daily Team stand-up meeting with all department personnel in area of responsibility Represent the company when interacting with production employees on the shop floor Help drive and implement safety policies and programs, meet operating budgets, complete continuous improvement plans, and coach employees on behavior/performance Monitor control plans, troubleshoot workmanship problems and supervise production activities to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed established quality requirements Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardize work processes are followed and countermeasures are implemented where necessary Ensure that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully perform job Utilize lean six sigma methodologies to reduce operational costs, inventory and lead-times as well as ensure alignment with long-term manufacturing strategies Develop and establish manufacturing priorities based on the production schedule and monitor employee work requirements in order to meet customer deadlines Ability to cover third shift supervisor when necessary Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution Two (2) years of manufacturing, production or operations experience One (1) year of leadership experience No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of (Syracuse, NY) to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Engineering, or related field of study from an accredited institution Machining experience (CNC, manual machining, etc.) Three (3) years of related experience including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope and complexity in a manufacturing environment Experience with SAP business system experience Experience with Microsoft Office platform Experience with Union environments Experience with Continuous Improvement projects #LI-AH2 Eaton considers qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with local laws.
