This is your role Job Family - Manufacturing Sub Job Family - Production Position Type - Supervisor & Team Leader Position - Production Supervisor - General Smart Code - MF-PN-PRDCT-SV09 PL - 9 Reports to - Production Manager Collaborates with - Logistics, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance & R&D Position Headline Leads, assists & supervises outsourced sub-contracting suppliers in overseeing and managing all production activities from functional perspective. Position Description * Ensures adherence to defined manufacturing guidelines, processes and procedures at supplier facility (focus on production with quality, cost & delivery). * Supervises production activities according to established quality standards and EHS requirements. * Contributes to production planning processes and determines manufacturing priorities based on established weekly production schedules. * Makes daily assignments and assigns work and tasks to the sub-contracting supplier team leaders. * Interprets specifications and makes judgments about the acceptability of production that is in process. * Proposes procedures improvements and implements technical infrastructure. * Take complete ownership of cost, quality & delivery KPIs of the supplier. Other functions are there to support. Key Responsibilities 1. Assist in monthly production planning & achieve the same. 2. Plan-monitor & achieve the key KPIs like delivery reliability, inventory level & lead time 3. Raise early alarm via mails on man / machine / material fronts 4. Work hand in hand with Manufacturing Engineering (ME) while proving the time study quantities. Be ambassador of Siemens. 5. Take lead in supplier activities required for sample lot / pilot lot (Resource allocation / process parameters etc.) in alignment with ME / MEC / QA. 6. Be Siemens ambassador while implementing any new system / improvements in existing processes. e.g. Qty. achievement / no. of resources reqd. / Cycle time optimization 7. Support ME in asset management. e.g. preintimation to ME while moving asset/s from one place to other place. 8. Have daily round at all suppliers to ensure that they are following all the processes & keeping all the required records. 9. Drive the supplier towards abiding by all the processes. Intervene immediately if found bypassing the system or when other functions are highlighting the issue. 10. Supplier rejection report preparation in alignment with QA. This shall provide first hand information on rejection levels. 11. Support new component / sub-assy / assy development at supplier 12. Update supplier capacity matrix as & when any changes are done. 13. Get all processes documented from required functions first & keep record of all such processes Impact (Work environment & Management complexity) 1. Complexity is about managing 8 to 10 sub-contracting suppliers having around 750 direct or contract employees. 2. Due to changing priorities or differing situations encountered in market demand, thinking is focused on planning, prioritizing and optimizing of material and/or personnel resources and also all functional processes to ensure achievement of given or agreed standards (reliability, availability, safety, effectiveness, etc.) Required Education & Experience, Knowledge/Skills 1. BE - Mechanical / Electrical / Production with minimum 10-12 years of experience in Low Voltage Products in production. 2. Both advanced practical and theoretical understanding and some significant advanced hands on experience are required to oversee and manage the diverse and relatively complex tasks in the related field of work. 3. Resource (Man, Machine & Material) planning as against customer demand. 4. Learning & collaboration attitude is a MUST. 5. Hands on experience in implementing "Lean Manufacturing" project at shop floor. 6. Hands on experience in implementing "5S", "Kanban", "PDCA", "8D" tools. 7. Hands on experience in SAP - PP & MM module. 8. Must have product know how - BOM 9. Must have basic process knowledge - welding 10. Must have basic understanding on how to read part, fixture, electrode drawings 11. Must know how to relate in-house capacity (parts/ sub-assy/testing/ post testing) for effective outsourced planning 12. Motivate supplier for CIPs, 5S & display (visual management) of the same. 13. Must have knowledge of KANBAN, get trained & in turn train supplier on KANBAN Influence (Workflow/People) 1.
