Job Description
Production Team Leader at Cwmbran, UK This role is key to driving processes across the Shop Floor to assist Production Supervisors & Operations Manager in the development of improvements. Ensuring a smooth transition whilst challenging to achieve a zero-incident safety culture is an important part of this role. This position supports improved productivity and efficiency as well as ensuring there is a linkage from strategy to actions. Essential Functions include: Enforce applicable safety, health and environmental guidelines and encourage personnel to further eliminate potential hazards. Plan production schedules & reallocate resources as the production situation changes and provide training for all employees on the shop floor. Lead Tier meetings to provide daily direction setting and co-ordinate information. Build staffing plan to ensure appropriate staffing levels. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leading process improvements and empowered work teams, recording daily SQDCI figures and be responsible for 5S+ within individual areas along the shop floor. Qualifications Qualifications: Knowledge of lean and manufacturing processes with the ability to act quickly making decisions & solving problems. Process oriented and ability to contribute to continuous improvement. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills & the ability to lead others in the matrix environment. Strong ethics, values, and the ability to influence others’ decision making. Additional Information: Willing to learn to a suitable level in all Microsoft Office applications and SAP. Desirable Skills: Familiar with MRP systems is an advantage, First Aid and Fire Marshall trained, kaizen experience, green belt or higher six sigma trained.
