Luton is home to our UK Marketing Company (UKMC), responsible for the marketing of our medicines in the UK. This is a strategic commercial role, in which you will be required to work on both the post and pre-launch phase of a product’s life cycle. You will be responsible for the management, mobilisation and development of Key External Experts (KEE) and their attendance at appropriate national and international meetings and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align KEE plan to the Brand strategy and execute key tactics
  • Commercial contact point for KEEs working in close collaboration with Marketing, Regional Account Team and MSL/MA/BU team 
  • Liaison with AZ account teams to develop regional plans and activities that include KEE mobilisation based on local account need
  • Leading the validation of KEE and the development of the KEE stakeholder map in close collaboration with MSL/MA/BU teams 
  • Responsible for KEE engagement, including facilitation of the  activities that the KEE is involved in both within UK and with non-UK AZ teams with hand-over to MA/MSL team for Advisory Boards, ISS/ESR and clinical studies
  • Responsible and in partnership with MA/MSL/BU for ensuring the KEE is briefed effectively, has sufficient information and expertise to enable them to discuss AZ brands in the context of the disease area  as part of AZ on label meetings or promotional activities 
  • Collaboration with, and referral to, an MSL/MA team for scientific exchange, discussion of development pipeline or clinical research studies
  • Responsible for full documentation to support delivery of meetings and payments of all third parties/speakers 
  • Work to established guidelines and processes regarding meetings management
  • To support individual KEE attendance at National and International Congress for the relevant therapy area in collaboration with MA/MSL/BU team 
  • To support individual KEE attendance at and delivery of Medically Lead national and regional scientific exchange / educational meeting programmes as deemed appropriate
  • Advise on the logistical aspects of a Medical meeting or stand, working in partnership with MA/MSL/BU 
  • To work in full accordance with all applicable AZ policies, including the EI policy, and the ABPI code of practice 
  • All discussions on off-label data, clinical studies, ISS/ESR or RWE planning to be appropriately channelled to MSL/MA team  

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, we need someone that has the following:

Essential: 

  • Excellent communication skills
  • BSc/BA
  • Significant pharmaceutical commercial experience with a strong performance track record 
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex clinical and health economic data effectively in customer interactions.
  • Good understanding and experience of account based working
  • Demonstrated experience of developing advocacy with KEEs

Desirable: 

  • MSc/PhD/MBA
  • Significant scientific experience with strong publication record
