Position Overview Siemens Industry – Digital Connectivity and Power (DCP): The DCP business unit has a Professional Services Solution Architect position open with a focus on networking infrastructure products and technologies as they relate to automation systems/utilities/and transportation (rail, ITS). Responsibilities Acts as the subject matter expert on networking infrastructure products and technologies in the Siemens RUGGEDCOM and SCALANCE product families. Demonstrates a combination of technical and project management skills. Architects OT network solutions to meet customer requirements. Demonstrates flexibility in working with sales teams and promoters to find best approach for each customer and solution while also following Professional Services growth strategy. Multitasks and collaborates with multiple entities to provide comprehensive proposals and quotations for incoming services requests. Leads development and/or assists in the development of key operational processes and utilizes them for managing services proposals and projects. Leads and/or supports key initiatives and assists in the development of collateral to support pursuit and delivery of the associated Professional Services. Collaborates with third parties to architect and support comprehensive solutions that enhance the Professional Services offering. Applies acquired process, product and/or equipment knowledge based on current industry trends, best practices, performance, price, and functionality. Provides technical product advice for the development and implementation of customer solutions. Prepares and presents detailed Professional Services technical proposals including solution demonstrations and prototypes. Performs on-site/remote activities that include configuration of switches and routers, network integration with third party components, testing and troubleshooting networks, performing system tests with reports as required, and optimizing existing networks. When necessary, provides support to the Pre-sales and Post-Sales teams for both the RUGGEDCOM and SCALANCE products. Work with marketing with technical expertise to support overall business strategies. Implements a yearly learning and development plan focusing on technical skills and engineering soft skills. Travel 30% Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience A solution architect is experienced in OT network designs involving multiple products and technologies and has comprehensive experience architecting, analyzing, and troubleshooting. Extensive knowledge in network infrastructure with a focus on how it relates to the automation/utility/transportation systems is required. Network design within IT and Automation platforms. (Topologies, Rings, Routing, VLAN, VRRP). WLAN design under IEEE 802.11 and knowledge in Rapid Roaming, IPCF, IPCF-MC. Networking analysis knowledge and proficiencies in Wireshark, SNMP, NMap, Wireless Site Surveys, Modeling, and Simulation Tools. Strong understanding of ITOT and Digitalization. Advanced Protocol knowledge in Automation, IT, SCADA, Security, and MES. Extensive knowledge in Profinet/Profibus/Profisafe. Cellular 4G/5G knowledge OT Cybersecurity Solution fitting Time management Self-Starter Mentoring Organization Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience Bachelor of Science degree in electrical/computer/mechanical engineering/computer science or equivalent technical degree. Typically, 5-10 years of experience with network infrastructures as it relates to automation/utilities/transportation systems. 5-10 years of experience with RUGGEDCOM/SCALANCE products Successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as described above Prior Siemens industrial automation/networking experience is a plus. Networking Certifications such as CCNP or Siemens certifications. Cybersecurity Certifications such as GICSP, CISSP, etc. Experience in VMware and virtualization.
