The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers 21 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input. All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies. In 2020/21 academic year, ten programmes will be included in the HKSAR Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $42,800 to $74,600 per year. Major Duties:
The appointee shall report to the Dean and support the Dean in developing and implementing strategies and plans for the Faculty, providing strong academic leadership in programme design and development, and the formulation of learning and teaching strategies; delivering quality programmes; fostering a culture of teamwork and building a disciplined team; leading the team in programme accreditation and validation; taking part in teaching and supervising student work; investigating and identifying funding opportunities within specialist subject area, this will include submitting research grant application; leading and participating in scholarly activities, including but not limited to research, consultancy, networking and collaboration with industry.

Requirements:
The successful candidate should have a master’s degree, preferably a doctoral degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Engineering or related fields and high professional standing, with demonstrated achievements in scholarship and/or professional practice, research and scholarly activities; rich experience in programme and curriculum development as well as teaching and learning; good understanding of the higher education environment; strong management, interpersonal and social skills; and high proficiency in English and preferably in Chinese, including Putonghua.

Notes:
(1) Candidates may be appointed on fractional, short term or part-time of employment.
(2) Applicants who have a recognised degree and/or high professional standing with distinguished level of achievement in their field of practice may be considered for the post of Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor of Practice.
(3) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
(4) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
